GuyShane Salcido has lived a life shaped by passion, creativity, and hard-earned experience. From a young age, he was drawn to acting and athletics, stepping onto the stage in plays at just 13 while also competing in sports year-round. Over time, his interests shifted, but both worlds continue to influence his storytelling, sports often making subtle appearances throughout his work.

After high school, GuyShane’s path took a different turn, leading him into experiences on the edge of the law, moments that would later become powerful elements within his writing. For nearly two decades, he worked side by side with his brother, sharing a bond built on constant connection and loyalty. That bond was tragically cut short when his brother was diagnosed with colon cancer and passed away soon after.

The loss sent GuyShane into a period of deep grief, struggling to process emotions he didn’t yet know how to express. Then, one day, the stories came, vivid and relentless, like a movie replaying in his mind. He began to write, channeling his pain into words and honoring his brother by naming his main character Johnny after him. Through writing, he found a way to cope, heal, and give voice to everything he had been carrying.

Although GuyShane attended culinary school and built a career in the service industry, writing became his escape, the place he could finally let everything out. He didn’t wait for the perfect moment or the perfect circumstances. He finished his books and put them out into the world as he was, where he was. More than anything, he did it for his kids, to show them that no matter how messy life gets, if you stay consistent and keep pushing, you can still build something real and as long as you believe in yourself, anything you set your mind to can become reality.
